Ed EvangelistaEd Evangelista became the first advertising executive to be embedded in entertainment content when he served as judge, juror, and executioner on ABC's prime-time TV show — American Inventor.

He stepped into that role from the NY Headquarters of ad agency JWT where he was Executive Creative Director before launching out on his own, to help brands and companies develop new creative ideas and experiences for consumers.

Ed has created award winning advertising, marketing and alternative content for some of the world's largest consumer brands from diamonds to liquors to automobiles to finance to bubble gum.

Ed re-introduced diamonds to the world for DeBeers and launched scores of new products and marketing campaigns that created sales of over $29 billion.

He in fact transformed the Diamond Trading Company, being responsible for the successful launches of The Right Hand Ring and Three Stone Diamond Jewelry which coined the phrase, “For your past, present and future.”

He married marketing and entertainment for the hit launch of Sunsilk's "LoveBites" for TBS. These were 65 two-minute interstitials that ran after Sex and the City and kept 70% of viewers eyeballs engaged.

On the digital front for Unilever, he launched Sunsilk's Color Showdown which makes contemporary the blondes versus brunettes debate using Sunsilk's hair color products as the primary weapons of choice.

With his vast advertising and marketing experience, Ed has created award-winning ideas for LIFE Magazine, Philips Electronics, Club Med, Volvo, MCI, The Wall Street Journal, Rolex, Smirnoff, Sony, Merrill Lynch, Cadbury, Unilever, P&G and Elizabeth Arden to name a few.

"Brands, that consumers feel "get" them and want to connect with — using all the conversation tools at their disposal, whether it be digital or mobile based content at the core of their strategy — will be the ones that will survive and be a part of peoples lives in the long run."

Ed is involved in developing emerging technology and new product development as well as applications for new software. He works with inventors who have new products and prototypes that are ready to go to market or need introduction to brands. In fact he will be starring in a new TV show based on this premise that will air in early 2010 on one of the cable networks.

He is co-founder of a data analytics company as well as a mobile platform that can distribute data and information on handheld devices.

He enjoys collecting classic cars and restorations from the ground up. His personal favorites are Italian and enjoys restoring them to original condition using the same strict "by hand" method by which they are made.

His other hobbies include fishing, jet skiing, boating, boxing and coaching his kids's baseball and softball teams. He is married and lives in New York.

Ed has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and has received every major advertising award from the One Show Gold to the Cannes Lion.
