Ed Evangelista became the first advertising executive to be embedded in entertainment content when he served as judge, juror, and executioner on ABC's — American Inventor.
He stepped into that role from the NY Headquarters of ad agency JWT where he was an Executive Creative Director for the past 10 years.
While there, Ed created award winning advertising campaigns and alternative content for Rolex, Smirnoff, Sunsilk, Trident and Merrill Lynch. He re-introduced diamonds to the world for DeBeers and launched scores of new products with sales of over $29 billion.
He in fact transformed the Diamond Trading Company, being responsible for the successful launches of The Right Hand Ring and Three Stone Diamond Jewelry which coined the phrase, For your past, present and future.
He married marketing and entertainment for the hit launch of Sunsilk's "LoveBites" for TBS. These 65 two minute TV episodes that ran after Sex and the City kept 70% of viewers engaged.
On the digital front for the same client, he launched Sunsilk's Color Showdown and colorshowdown.com which makes contemporary the blondes versus brunettes debate using Sunsilk's products as the primary weapons of choice.
Over his 28 years in the communication business, Ed has created award- Winning creative for LIFE Magazine, Philips Electronics, Club Med, Volvo, MCI, The Wall Street Journal, Cadbury, Unilever, P&G and Elizabeth Arden to name a few.
Ed is an advocate of "green" issues and the development of alternative programming, web and mobile based entertainment as well as sports and business programs.
Ed is the quintessential automobile aficionado and indulges in ground-up restorations. Among all the cars in his collection he personally restoring them to original condition using the same strict "by hand" method by which these sports cars are made.
His other hobbies include fishing, jetskiing, boating, boxing and coaching his daughters windmill fast-pitch softball league. He is married with two children and lives in New York.
